Resumo
O presente artigo tem como objetivo discutir os estudos sobre a feminização das profissões jurídicas, com foco na carreira da magistratura, com base na análise dos argumentos frequentemente utilizados para compreender a persistência de desigualdades de gênero, em articulação com raça/etnia, na composição dos quadros profissionais do Poder Judiciário. Analisamos a produção acadêmica dos últimos vinte anos referentes à presença de mulheres na magistratura do Brasil e em outros países do Hemisfério Norte e da América Latina. Esperamos que este artigo possa contribuir para o aprofundamento das análises sobre o tema e para as agendas voltadas à democratização do sistema de justiça no Brasil.

Beyond numbers: an analysis of studies on the feminization of the magistracy
This article aims to discuss the feminization of the legal professions, focusing on the career of the judiciary, from the analysis of the arguments that are often used to understand the persistence of gender inequalities, in articulation with race/ethnicity, in the composition of professionals of the Judiciary. We analyzed the academic production of the last 20 years regarding the presence of women in the Brazilian judiciary and in other countries in the North and Latin America. We hope that this article can contribute to the deepening of the analysis on the subject in Brazil and to the agendas dedicated to the democratization of the justice system.
