Resumo
Este artigo tem por objetos a análise do Serviço de Acolhimento Institucional, medida protetiva prevista no Estatuto da Criança e do Adolescente, em especial o serviço realizado no município de Campinas, e a verificação de que ações aqui implementadas justificam o reconhecimento cabível no âmbito do Direito da Criança e do Adolescente. Analisa-se também o histórico da legislação desse ramo do Direito até a atualidade, as espécies de Acolhimento Institucional e, por fim, a realidade em que se insere a rede socioassistencial de Campinas.

INSTITUTIONAL HOSTING SERVICE, A PROTECTIVE POLICY STATED BY THE BRAZILIAN CHILD AND YOUTH STATUTE, AS IT IS APPLIED IN THE CITY OF CAMPINAS, SP
ABSTRACT: The aim of this article is to analyse the Institutional Care Service, a protective measure applied in Brazilian Child and Adolescent Statute, specially the service developed in Campinas city and verify which are the implemented actions that justify the necessary recognition that it deserves on the field of the Children and Adolescents’ tights, analyzing the history of Law in this branch until the present moment, the Institutional Care types and finally, the reality that Campinas’ social assistance network operates.
