Executive Director

Felipe Scudeler Salto

Felipe Salto holds a B.A. in Economics from the São Paulo School of Economics at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) and a master’s degree in public administration and government also from FGV. Received the Best Dissertation Award from the GV / Research. He was an economic consultant, focused on macroeconomics, public accounts and external accounts at Tendências Consultoria, of the former Minister of Economy Mailson da Nóbrega (2008-2014). Between 2015 and 2016, he worked as advisor of senators José Serra and José Aníbal on economic and fiscal matters. He lectured Brazilian macroeconomics at MBA courses at FGV/EESP. He published articles in “Folha de S. Paulo”, in ‘Valor Econômico” and in the “O Estado de S. Paulo”. In 2016, he published the book "Public Finance: From Creative Accounting to the Rescue of Credibility", by Editora Record, with Mansueto Almeida. In November 2016, the plenary of the Federal Senate approved his name to assume the six-years mandate of Executive-Director of the then newly created IFI (Independent Fiscal Institution), position currently held. In November 2017, he received the Jabuti Prize, when he obtained the first place in the Economy category, with the aforementioned book. Currently, he teaches a course in Public Finance in the Professional Master in Economics at IDP. Write on page A2 of the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo.

Daniel Veloso Couri

Daniel Couri holds a B.A. in Economics (2004 ) and a master’s degree in Public Sector Economics (2016) from the University of Brasília (UnB). He is an expert on budget and public finance, having worked at the Federal Budget Office of the Brazilian Ministry of Planning (2006-2008) and at the Macro Evaluation Office of the Brazilian Court of Audits - TCU (2008-2014). Since 2014, Daniel is a budget advisor at the Federal Senate, currently seconded to the IFI. He has taught budget and public finance in several courses for TCU and the Brazilian National Judicial School for Formation and Development (Enfam). He has worked at IFI since its creation, at the end of 2016. In August 2019, he became a member of the Institution's Board of Directors for a four-year term. He writes monthly for the Nexo Jornal.

Vilma

Vilma da Conceição Pinto

Vilma Pinto holds a B.A. in Economics from the State University of Rio de Janeiro - UERJ (2014) and master's degree in Business Economics and Finance from the Brazilian School of Economics of Fundação Getulio Vargas – FGV/EPGE (2018). She was an economic advisor at the Paraná State Finance Department (SEFA PR). Vilma is a licensed researcher at the Brazilian Institute of Economics at Fundação Getúlio Vargas - IBRE/FGV. She has experience in the field of Economics, with an emphasis on public finance, working mainly on the following topics: tax collection, tax reform, fiscal responsibility and public deficit.

Alessandro

Alessandro Ribeiro de Carvalho Casalecchi

Alessandro holds a doctorate degree in Economics from FGV/EESP and a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of São Paulo (USP), focused on econometric methods (econometric theory and applied econometrics). He has published a paper on the transparency of local public procurement in the journal Cadernos de Gestão Pública e Cidadania, FGV. He also has experience with research on the labor market as well as on the econometric properties of program evaluation methods, among other topics.

Alexandre

Alexandre Augusto Seijas de Andrade

Alexandre Andrade holds a B.A. in Economics and a master’s degree in Economics from the University of São Paulo (USP). Worked previoulsy as teacher of Economics in undegraduate and postgraduate courses. Between 2007 and 2011, worked as sênior economist at Tendências Consultoria Integrada, being responsible for economic activity matters, in addition of taking part in special studies and specific demands by the clients. Worked also as economist for Votorantim Brokerage House between 2011 and 2013, being responsible for elaborating macroeconomic and sectoral scenarios for internal and external audiences. Was chief-economist at GO Associados, a consulting company, between 2013 and 2016, in which introduced a macro research area. At the Brazilian Federal Senate, worked as advisor to senator Lúcia Vânia between 2016 and 2018 in economic and fiscal matters.

Pedro

Pedro Henrique Oliveira de Souza

Pedro concluded his undergraduate in Economics at the University of Brasilia (UnB). He worked as and intern at the IFI between 2019 and 2020. He received an honorable mention in the XXIV National Treasury Award (2019) for co-authoring a study that simulated the social security expenses of the Union's RPPS.

Rafael

Rafael da Rocha Mendonça Bacciotti

Rafael holds a B.A. degree and a master’s degree in Economics, both from the São Paulo School of Economics at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV). He has worked for eight years in the macroeconomic team of the consultancy firm Tendências, analyzing economic indicators and working on the design of projects with the application of econometric models. He has articles published in some of main Brazilian newspapers, such as Folha de S. Paulo, Valor Econômico and O Estado de S. Paulo.

 

Communication advisor

Carla Cristina Osorio Caldas

Carla Caldas holds a B.A. in Advertising from the University of Brasília (UnB), a Degree in Graphic Design from Shillington Education and is an expert in Visual Arts. She worked at TV Senado from 2009 to 2021, where she developed and managed the TV station's break grid and restructured its social media.

 

Thuane Vieira Rocha

Thuane holds a Degree in Languages - Portuguese/English (Unieuro), an MBA in Human Resources Management (UNIP) and in Public Manegement (Unyleya) and attended some credits in the Master in Organizational and Work Psychology at the University of Brasilia (UnB). Student of the Professional Master's Degree in Legislative Power at the Center for Formation, Training and Improvement (CEFOR) of the Chamber of Deputies.
